Music Memory Box

The Music Memory Box is a customisable box filled with a person’s favourite objects. When an object is put in the centre of the box an individual piece of music or audio content plays. This is achievable through using the same technology that is used in Oyster cards around London. The Music Memory Box helps people with dementia and their loved ones to reminiscence more effectively than current methods and also to improve their emotional wellbeing and communication skills. The dramatic speed at which Britain is ageing, has meant that dementia care has recently been described as the number one national crisis. The Music Memory Box combines the benefits of music therapy, reminisce activity and person centred care into one affordable product.

The Music Memory Box was a finalist in the National Dementia Care Awards 2015 in the Most Innovative Product Category.
